ECO 475 – Large Format Tile Adhesive

Preparation Stage

• Prepare the installation area. Tiles should be installed on a substrate that is fully cured, stable, and level.
• Install level markers and string lines to ensure precision, straightness, and ease of work for the granite installation.
• Clear the substrate of any debris, dust, moss, or oil, as these contaminants can significantly weaken the adhesion strength.
• It is recommended to lightly dampen both the installation surface and the tiles/granite with water before starting.

Mixing Stage

• Pour approximately 5 to 5.5 liters of clean water into a mixing bucket for every 25kg bag of ECO-475.
• Gradually add the ECO-475 Large-Format Adhesive powder into the water.
• Stir the mixture until it reaches a smooth, lump-free consistency. Using an electric mixer is highly recommended for optimal results.

Application Stage

• Apply the adhesive manually using a notched trowel as per standard practices.
• The recommended thickness is ± 3mm or 6mm, depending on the tile size and the flatness of the substrate.
• It is highly recommended to use the double buttering technique (applying adhesive to both the substrate and the back of the tile) to ensure maximum coverage and bond strength.

Important Precautions

• Do not add other materials such as cement, sand, or any other additives to the mixture.
• Prepare only the necessary amount of mixture. Ensure each batch is used within a maximum of 60 minutes.
• Apply the adhesive tile by tile (or in small sections) to prevent the adhesive from drying (skinning over) before the tile is set.
• For tiles larger than 60×60 cm or those with uneven back surfaces, apply an additional layer of adhesive to the back of the tile to ensure a perfect bond.
• Proper application with a notched trowel prevents trapped air, ensuring 100% contact and preventing the tiles from lifting or popping.
